AI Social Media Monitoring Tool

In collaboration with the DaTALab at York University, this tool identifies posts on X (formerly Twitter) related to emerging substance use trends, risks and harms. It uses artificial intelligence to select and display relevant posts in real time across Canada.

CCENDU Bulletin: Update on Xylazine in Canada and the United States

This bulletin updates recent data on xylazine’s presence in the unregulated drug supply from a Canadian Community Epidemiology Network on Drug Use (CCENDU) alert in July 2022. It also assesses concerns among community partners and highlights public health-based solutions. CCENDU partnered with the National Drug Early Warning System in the United States and the Public Health Agency of Canada to update the previous alert.

Community Urinalysis and Self-Report Project: Overall Cross-Canada Trends in Substance Use, 2021–2023

This report presents substance use trends and describes whether participants’ expected substance use aligned with actual substance contents in their urine. Data were collected from harm reduction sites in seven regions across Canada that participated in the project between 2021 and 2023.
